NATURE OF THE TESTED PRODUCT AND METHODS:, Reference of the product: REFER WHITENING STRETCHMARK REMOVER CREAM., Choice of the study: Open study; non-comparative test; each subject was her own control. Kinetics: T0, T+28 days, T+56 days
Application of the product: The test product was applied on the areas covered by strechmarks, twice daily (in the morning and in the evening). Over a 56 day- period, by the subjects themselves. Application had to be done after the shower and before bedtime for the evening application. The applied quantity corresponded to the normal conditions of use for this kind of product. Subjects were not authorized using other types of cosmetic creams or products on the abdomen, hips, legs or buttocks during the entire study. Population: 33 subjects at T0; 31 subjects at T-28 days; 30 subjects completed the study. Main criteria of inclusion: Healthy, Asian female subjects, between 18-35 years of age, with stretchmarks on the abdomen, hips, legs or buttocks.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In our experimental conditions, we have demonstrated:
· That the REFER WHITENING STRETCHMARK REMOVER CREAM was able to significantly reduce the size of the stretchmarks after 56 days of twice daily utilization. Indeed, after 56 days of use of the test product, important and significant decreases in the mean width (-42.8%; p<0.05) and in the mean length (-38.3%:p<0.01) of the stretchmarks have been observed;
· That the color difference between stretchmarks and adjacent normal skin has been reduced (i.e) stretchmarks became less visible) after 28 days and 56 days of utilization of the REFER WHITENING STRETCHMARK REMOVER CREAM, but in a non significant manner;
· That the global impression about the REFER WHITENING STRETCHMARK REMOVER CREAM was excellent since 96.7% of the subjects of this test had a good global impression (very good for 23.3% of the population). Indeed all the items related to the performances and efficacy regarding to the stretchmarks problems were significantly recognized after 28 days and 56 days of utilization of the test product.
· That the tested product (REFER WHITENING STRETCHMARK REMOVER CREAM) was perfectly well tolerated by the subjects of the test, under the conditions of the present study (twice daily application on the areas covered by stretchmarks).
